It’s officially fall in the Northeast.

I grew up in California, and even though I’ve lived in the Boston area for quite a few years now, the fall foliage never ceases to amaze me.

The Changing Landscape of Downside Protection in VCland

I recently came across an article from Pitchbook that details an interesting emerging challenge for venture capitalists.

As interest rates rise and growth slows, some valuations have decreased, causing some portfolio companies to be valued lower than their previous valuation. Combine this with differing share classes and conflicting interests arise among investors in the same fund based on when they came in.

Mammoth Wins

This month, I figured I’d share a proud parent moment of my own. I think I speak for the majority of parents when I say there are few joys as profound as witnessing your child discover their passions and excel in them.

Over the last several years, one of my daughters has gotten really into horseback riding, or as I’ve been corrected several times, hunter jumper to be exact. A few weeks ago, she participated in an equestrian tournament where she earned 5th, 3rd and 1st place in her classes.

As my kids are getting older, it’s been a very rewarding experience to witness them develop their own hobbies, nurture their passions and take pride in their achievements.
